As an example, our chosen destination, Namibia fulfilling all the expressions of the true glory of night skies – is in southern Africa, an abode for many experienced amateur astronomers – a region we aim to specialize in.

The fourth largest country in Africa and the size of France, with a population of only 2.5 million people, "empty" is the word most often used to describe this land  – so very empty, and starkly beautiful. A land of sheer extremes and untamed landscapes, wide-open rugged spaces, harsh deserts, massive sand dunes and craggy mountains, Namibia speaks of otherworldly beauty.

It can be said about Namibia that even in a country of impractically great stretches, there are places which are further remote! Speak of the 2,022 km² NamibRand Nature Reserve, the 5,900 km² Fish River Canyon, or the 49,800 km² Namib-Naukluft National Park.

Situated at 24° latitude below the Equator, you will be treated with the majestic southern Milky Way band and the magnificent southern constellations, the treasures of southern skies aplenty, gorgeous deep-sky objects of the deep south like open clusters, globular clusters & nebulae, the distant southern galaxies. And the neighbouring satellite galaxies of the Milky Way, Large Magellanic Cloud & Small Magellanic Cloud.

Even a CNN Travel article speaks highly – and one of the best descriptions you can get – about this country, a location aptly "matched" and "made" for AstroTourism.

Namibia, an astronomer's paradise, is now the country to begin your astronomy journey at with us. Trust us, when we say, you need not go to America or Europe to experience and learn advanced amateur astronomy and witness phenomenal night skies. Namibia and its southern hemisphere skies has it all!
